Yeah and it only takes one hit, keep plugging away. I'm probably adding another market next week that I have weak ties too because why not? It takes an hour but can mean the difference between an ideal job and a tolerable one.

There's no way to export email addresses from NALP, right? That would be too easy.

you have to pay 60c per one. but yes, you can mailmerge from a search. it isn't very accurate though.hooma wrote:There's no way to export email addresses from NALP, right? That would be too easy.

Email addresses? I've exported the mailing addresses and contact info, but I haven't seen the email mail merge function...goldeneye wrote:you have to pay 60c per one. but yes, you can mailmerge from a search. it isn't very accurate though.hooma wrote:There's no way to export email addresses from NALP, right? if you do a search, "mail merge" comes up on the blue box at the top of the search results. maybe MM doesn't do email address? i was too cheap to pay so I did it manually.hooma wrote:Email addresses? Can we make a list of all "not hiring 1Ls" dings?
save each other from going through the trouble.
(I'd start, but I haven't gotten one yet... expected any day now)

Alston & Bird in at least one office told me they may be hiring 1Ls - limited spots, but not a "not hiring 1Ls firm." Can confirm Squire Sanders, though.Anonymous User wrote:Not hiring 1Ls

The following DC offices said they weren't hiring 1Ls:
Alston & Bird
Crowell & Moring
Drinker Biddle Reath
Gibson Dunn
Also, interview offers with two Minneapolis firms.

Re: Heard Back for 1L SA Position
I just got a seemingly generic interview e-mail from Hayboo for 1L SA. On NALP it says that this particular office has only a couple 1L SA spots. Are they going to interview like 100 people for the 2 or 3 spots? Or is this mostly a "get to know the firm so you can bid us for OCI" sort of thing?
Also, anyone know if their Minority Scholars program is still going on? Do you apply or are you automatically considered?

Has anyone tried Sidley Austin yet? I was thinking about sending in my resume and a cover letter to them now and getting them grades in January, but I wanted to see if anyone has talked to them first.

Complete silence on 90% of my apps so far. 1 rejection out of Chicago, 1 midwest CB, 2 midwest writing sample requests and absolutely nothing else from the ~50 other firms I mailed.
Once you guys have transcripts are you going to update the firms that haven't even acknowledged your app?

As far as I know their program is still going, though when I get a "diversity" email I just delete it since I dont qualify.Anonymous User wrote:I just got a seemingly generic interview e-mail from Hayboo for 1L SA. In the same boat minus a CB. Not sure what the silence means haha. And as for transcripts I have no clue. Has anyone had undergraduate transcript requested? If so, from which firms?
