Personal Statement for 1L biglaw diversity associate

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Nov 26, 2012 12:48 pm

will be applying for a biglaw diversity 1L position (complete huge long-shot I know)....need advice on 500 word or less personal statement talking about why I wanted to go into law and why this firm...my law school application personal statement was very heavily public interest focused because i volunteered with pi organizations in undergrad...always wanted to do biglaw but needed something substantive to say when applying to schools

Any advice on how to go about it?

You could do a variation on this. Something along the lines of, "I want a challenging career working on cutting edge and complex issues, but I also want to be able to give back to the community. This firm allows me to do both, given its high caliber of practice and front-page deals, and its extensive commitment to pro-bono work."
