Chicago & DC done.
Also two submit your app online emails which, of course, don't say which office.

It's December and I still think I can get a BigLaw SA. Re: Anyone still hiring SA's? Anything on anyone's simplicity?
If they're interviewing a 1L, I'm guessing it's to fill a spot left by a 2L who bailed or a newly expanded desire for SAs. And I think new or renewed 2L applications would have a decent chance at that spot. What am I missing?Uncle.Joe wrote:I just wanted to point out the lack of logic here.Anonymous User wrote:1L in other thread had an upcoming K&L Gates interview, so won't be surprised if they had a spot left among the 2L summers. That they're looking for a 1L not a 2L because they don't want someone they would be hiring permanentlyAnonymous User wrote:If they're interviewing a 1L, I'm guessing it's to fill a spot left by a 2L who bailed or a newly expanded desire for SAs. 1L summer associate positions have no relation to 2L summer associate positions. The former are for firms to possibly get someone for their 2L class whose numbers would indicate they would go to a higher ranked firm. The latter are a 10 week job interview.
They just aren't the same thing.

Initially by emailing all the recruiting people + hiring partners. Was sent to the recruiting site by a couple unnamed offices and dinged through personal emails from a hiring partner and couple of recruiting coordinators. Though it's all a black box at the moment and I'm not very hopeful of something happening.Anonymous User wrote:Did you guys apply through the website or email?

Historically, and I know it is RARE, but are there ever any Spring openings for summer SA's. I expect my GPA to boost me a little bit... and still hope.

In terms of big firms, checking last year's thread all I could find was one opening at Dickstein Shapiro for someone with a CPA and who was a Certified Fraud Examiner.Anonymous User wrote:Historically, and I know it is RARE, but are there ever any Spring openings for summer SA's. Yet didn't Dewey SAs get BigLaw jobs in April? Or am I completely wrong?

Re: Anyone still hiring SA's? Anything on anyone's simplicity?
I interviewed for my SA position in early April and received an offer later in the month. Definitely rare, but it is possible. However, this position wasn't widely advertised, and I heard about it through connections. It was a new office of a larger firm that had just opened within the past year, so they missed out on OCI. So my advice would be to look for firms that recently opened new offices and apply to the new offices (not really sure the best way to research this, but just something you can try).Anonymous User wrote:Historically, and I know it is RARE, but are there ever any Spring openings for summer SA's.
