Not sure I'd say that, but this article from 5/16/11 might be responsive:

Not sure what to think. Huge firm, but some of these people seem pretty important. Just got on a roll and figured I'd ride it out. Sorry for the rapid posting.

Chambers says they only have 222 lawyers...

Head Office: New York
Number of domestic offices: 3
Number of international offices: 10
Partners (US): 99
Associates (US): 123

That means that these departures you just listed account for ~50% of their workforce... Even if they were all replaced that is HUGE turnover...

That's just US offices. NALP says 425, but some numbers don't add up. And Wikipedia says 400+. Still, not as big as I assumed—I stand corrected.

I would be, at least, concerned about the direction of the firm.

I simply would keep my feelers out in case I needed a back-up plan. I try to keep my foot on the networking pedal anyway, but perhaps I would be a bit more open and aggressive in that respect. Feel free to PM if you want more detailed thoughts.

I would not express concern to anyone at the firm. I probably would not even ask about a general trend or any particular individual's departure, though those issues might be fair game. At most, I might ask someone to elaborate if they made unprompted mention of departures or a systemic problem. But that's just me.

If not a Dewey situation, could this perhaps lead to it being more likely you'll get an offer?
