phone call rejection

Postby Anonymous User » Tue Sep 11, 2012 9:32 pm

My post-CB rejection came via phone call this evening. In it, my host/OCI interviewer talked about how much they liked me and encouraged me to keep in touch. Is this usual? If not, would it be appropriate to reach out in a couple of days and try and get some feedback about maybe why I was ultimately dinged?

Honestly, if they liked you and took the time to call you, I'm sure it's just a matter of ITE/small classes/lots of qualified people. I doubt there was a reason other than too many good applicants for too few seats.

I got a phone call rejection today too...assumed it was an offer when I answered the phone. That one hurt a lot.

Phone call ding after CBs is a sucky move. I hope that doesn't happen to me.

OP: yeah I got excited thinking it was an offer, especially bc it was my top choice of firm ... whomp whomp. :(

You and me both. I'm still bitter.
