Different component, but make that three of us...Anonymous User wrote:Anonymous User wrote:Did you get labelled a finalist?Anonymous User wrote:What about BOP?
I interviewed with BOP and my status is still "Selected for Interview." I'm assuming all hope is lost since the interviewers indicated they were going to make offers fairly quickly.
Mine is still Selected for Interview as well, and I have the same feeling as you.

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
OARM said they wanted finalists by last week, so I think if you are still "selected for interview" you're not a first round choice. BUT components can add finalists whenever so that doesn't necessarily mean you couldn't be a second round choice. Also that's just my theory.

I'd venture to guess nothing past 1:00 p.m. means wait until Monday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

With seeing how few people showed up at my federal agency and everyone getting out two hours early, I'd be extremely surprised to see anything today. Hapyy Thanksgiving to you all and good luck!Anonymous User wrote:I'd venture to guess nothing past 1:00 p.m. means wait until Monday. Happy Thanksgiving everyone

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
so instead of finishing my PMF essays like a good law student, I've picked out the apartment I want if I ever actually get an offer (fyi: I'm not going to). Now my imagined life next year is really complete.

Another week, another week of waiting. Anyone feeling some reference checks/offers this week?

Re: DOJ Honors 2013
I am praying so. I still haven't been able to bring myself to complete the essays for PMF. I am to the point of paranoia and superstition to where I am afraid that if I don't do the essays then I will not get an offer from DOJ whereas if I do the essays I will get an offer. Perhaps I should do that right now? Ugh. . .Anonymous User wrote:Another week, another week of waiting. Anyone feeling some reference checks/offers this week?
How do you know you are well-suited to manage the realities and challenges of working in the Federal government? I don't!

I am really interested in finding out where you could be assigned, how long it takes, etc. if you put that you are willing to go anywhere for OCIJ. Any ideas?

What do you mean, exactly? I'm confused about how it would be different from if you gave preferences.Anonymous User wrote:I am really interested in finding out where you could be assigned, how long it takes, etc. if you put that you are willing to go anywhere for OCIJ. Any ideas?

From what I know, first they choose who they want in the class of JLCs. Then they engage in a game of attempting to place people based on their preferences. Once everyone is placed, they will extend an offer to you for a specific court. As far as I know, it is essentially the same as for the people who put preferences.Anonymous User wrote:I am really interested in finding out where you could be assigned, how long it takes, etc. if you put that you are willing to go anywhere for OCIJ. Re: DOJ Honors 2013
The second step is something I put together from information I've seen here and people I've talked to who went through the process in previous years. Therefore, I am not 100% sure that is accurate for this year. My interviewer told me that they pick who they want, place them, and then extend offers to people stating which court the offer is for.Anonymous User wrote:How do you know this?Anonymous User wrote:

Okay, that makes sense. I was just unsure how much I should read into the fact that at least one of my references was contacted.

No news... EOIR-OCIJ; selected as a finalist, no references contact (to my knowledge); no offer.
