Not snarky at all, actually. I was told by one of my references that they talked to someone at EOIR about me today, but they wouldn't give me any more information than that. Yes, I do want to kick that person for being evasive.Anonymous User wrote:I hate to sound like one of those snarky law students, but what do you mean by "believe"?Chartreuse wrote:EOIR here. Re: DOJ Honors 2013
EOIR here -- one of my references was contacted today by email. The email from OCIJ said that they hope to make offers as soon as possible, hopefully starting next week.
My status on Avue is still "selected for interview."
To the person that said that EOIR interviewed 180 people, how do you know that?

So when everyone says EOIR, they mean OCIJ mostly? Anyone heard from non-OCIJ?
I don't really expect an answer to that. I'm just chiming in nervously.

I also interviewed with a non-OCIJ component. I have not yet heard anything from that one either. If you want, feel free to message me and we can compare information.Anonymous User wrote:So when everyone says EOIR, they mean OCIJ mostly? Anyone heard from non-OCIJ?

I am really having problems concentrating in class today due to this. I so want to know, and I want to know if I need to write the essays for PMF or not.

I'm guessing tomorrow at 5:00 p.m., keeping us all on edge, refreshing Avue until then.

Yeah, I just got a phone call from an unknown number and nearly had a heart attack. Turns out it's from Huntsville, AL (NOT somewhere connected to anything I've applied for) and they didn't leave a message, so meaningless, but goddamn.

703 is the area code you are looking for (if you are waiting on EOIR). Good luck!Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I just got a phone call from an unknown number and nearly had a heart attack. Selected as finalist!!! (really hoping everyone else here gets good news too!) now off to perform ritual sacrifice in hopes of actually getting an offer... (what do you think would most please the job-offering gods?)
(oh, and since people will ask: it literally just changed in the last 15 minutes or so, as I've been checking obsessively all day... and I interviewed with a couple of components so am not sure which one is involved. One was EOIR.)

I interviewed with two EOIR components. I just changed to finalist. I can't feel my toes and I think I'm turning white in the middle of Business Associations.

My status changed to "Selected as Finalist" -- I only interviewed with EOIR OCIJ. Change just happened within the last 15 minutes or so.

Not that I'm aware of (most of my references are now in another state, but the judge I'm clerking for hasn't said anything).Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone's references been contacted by a USAO yet?

Being a finalist means you're either going to get an offer OR you're an alternate for an offer. (I was a finalist last year, but never got an offer.)Anonymous User wrote:What does "selected as finalist" typically mean?Anonymous User wrote:EOIR OCIJ.
