Seems like not as many people are applying to ENRD? Is this the historical trend? I ask because I'm applying.

Nope. Mind sharing your components, though? I only ask because last year the movement seemed to be component by component, rather than all at once.

If I accept a clerkship for 2014, can i still accept an Honors position for 2013 and return after a year away?

You won't be able to return like you would at a firm. You'd have to go through a separate lateral hiring process, even if your component wanted you back.

You can reapply to Honors-- i.e., you wouldn't have to lateral like the person above me suggests-- but it would be square one.

Unless I'm reading this wrong, I don't think this is right.

Warning: the following post may contain a vast overreaction to the last post. Oh NO!! Mine still says "Application Received by DOJ." Does this mean I'm in trouble?? I applied toward the end...

I read this thread, briefly freaked out, then checked my application and I have "referred to components" as well.

Not to be the bearer of any kind of bad news - but I applied late - as in, 2 hours before the application closed. Also, I applied for SLIP in two previous years. The first year I made it to an interview, and got the "referred to components." But the second time my application went nowhere and I never got the "referred to components" message - stuck on "application received."

But it probably depends on the components - mine were EOIR, ENRD, and the USAOs. It seems too early to panic!

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
Just kidding ... it's still FREE!
