I received an offer from Latham a while ago. Regarding the no work rumor, I have heard the exact opposite. Apparently, since shrinking their class size there has been a great deal of work. So much so that they have been looking to hire laterals.
There has been enough Latham bashing on TLS.

Of course you need laterals when you fired all the incoming classes a couple of years ago. I think this is probably a decent time to be a lateral if you survived all the purging, you should be able to get offers at a number of firms. Not just Latham.
