I received an offer from Latham a while ago. Regarding the no work rumor, I have heard the exact opposite. Apparently, since shrinking their class size there has been a great deal of work. So much so that they have been looking to hire laterals.

There has been enough Latham bashing on TLS.

This. Was a SA at Latham in a Cali office this summer and corporate bros were pretty dang busy. No idea about Chicago though.

Of course you need laterals when you fired all the incoming classes a couple of years ago. I think this is probably a decent time to be a lateral if you survived all the purging, you should be able to get offers at a number of firms. Not just Latham.

This. Latham Chicago.
Also heard they rehired some folks that they laid off, which I'm not exactly sure how to assess.
