I know firms care about ties, but what about PD/DA offices? I started applying to random places where I've never even been before.

Just got another interview via mass mailing. This method works. Keep on keeping on.

Not going to lie, pretty excited that I'm the anon that got quoted! Although I'll never be able to prove it to anyone...

Well, you're famous, now. It's a great resume line: "Mentioned in Wall Street Journal Re: STARTING TO FREAK OUT!"

You better turn that resume into a CV now that you're a PUBLISHED AUTHOR
Have an interview tomorrow morning and this is definitely getting an updated resume.

I'm in the same situation as a lot of you, really. I haven't had much good news beyond a few callbacks, and I grew up overseas in seven different countries so it's hard to prove I have roots anywhere. I'm not really a minority either (African American, Eskimo, Native American, African, Cuban, etc). I think that, and my mediocre grades, might be the main reason I only have a few callbacks. I was persistent, networked, used CDO resources, and still nothing. I'm going to wait it out, but for now I think I'll drink my sorrows away. The only real good news is that many people are in the same boat. Wait, that's not good news.
