Well it was public interest so I kind of get where he's coming from on that point and trust me, the salary was posted it was nothing to brag about, but what he implied was that I was acting entitled when I expected to be paid anything for my work. He implied my full time work was worth absolutely nothing and somehow my inability to afford to work for free means I wasn't committed to the work (whereas I guess if I was a trust fund baby who could afford to work for free I would suddenly be "passionate" and "committed.") That's what made me rage.

Also the interview that prompted the "have you ever left an interview wanting to suicide if you have to work for that office?" didn't invite me back, so apparently they felt the same way. They asked me my feelings on the death penalty (to which I almost just said "should I just leave right now?"), grilled me about my librul resume, gave me two roleplays with unresponsive victims and witnesses, and kept adjusting their hypo and making me give another answer until eventually I made an ethics violation.

Honestly you should consider tearing into this person and walking out of the interview (if something similar ever happens again). Call them unprofessional, tell them to their face that their perspective is a cancer and that you will be sharing it with your school's career services to help other students. Sure we are in a position of weakness and you don't want to "burn bridges" or whatever, but this person and people like them aren't even bridges. They are steaming heaps of garbage waste who do nothing positive for the profession or the world.

So I got a call on May 8th from a judicial assistant. She said the judge received my resume and wanted to interview me, and she was just calling to see if I was still interested in interviewing since several months had passed since I had mailed in my app. I said yes, and then she said I would be called within the next 10 days to schedule the interview once she knew when the judge wanted to do the interviews. It's now May 24, and I haven't heard yet. It seems like the chambers moves pretty slow, and I know you aren't ever supposed to call chambers about your app. Should I just keep waiting or should I risk it and call?
