I see a bunch of Real Estate, Finance and Corporate stuff in this thread. Is that stuff hot right now? I thought Corporate hiring was supposed to be getting rough?

Nothing here either. Thinking that sometime this week we should hear if it is good news.

At least I can hold on to hope for a little while. Anyone get any indication as to how many spots they were looking to fill?

It's because corporate and real estate were so cold that firms intentionally underhired to gauge what the market would be like. As much as I don't like it being on this side of the table, it makes a lot of sense. There are tons of qualified 3Ls floating around, so why not postpone making commitments until closer to the start date?

As somebody focused on corporate finance work, I'm fairly happy about this. I just need more Texas firms to start looking at 3Ls in these fields.

We are looking for a litigation attorney with 0-3 years experience. You must be hard working, smart, and committed to public interest law, and you must have a demonstrated connection to NJ. We anticipate that you would start sometime after you have taken the bar, so that you can devote your energies during the summer to passing the bar. It seemed like more than 1 from my interviews and the other kids I spoke with after the interview on the way to the parking garage. No idea exactly how many for sure. At least it doesn't appear to be 40 interviewees for 1 spot.

I also got the impression there might be more than one hire, but was also told we'd likely hear by early or midweek, and I haven't gotten a lucky phone call yet, so am moving on for now. I find it very hard to apply for more jobs while fixated on waiting to hear back from one, but got out a few cold apps/networking e-mails today for the first time in a little while.

It seems like 3 or 4 people on here haven't heard anything from them yet.

I agree about moving on, but talking to others who went through OCI with Potter, I learned that they have not been the fastest moving firm with interviews/callbacks/offers in the past, so there is still some hope out there.

Hope springs. But yeah I don't find the waiting/staring at the phone to be a distraction as to moving on to other apps - learned a long time ago to deal with plenty of rejections and keep churning out the effort

Nothing.........

They probably realize it's a buyers market and we are not going anywhere.

You understand that was wishful thinking/desperation, right? I've already been told that a lot of jobs start opening up around May. Once May hits, we'll be told lots of people get jobs after the bar.

There isn't a magic month where our luck will drastically change.
