There are periodical threads about this, but little comprehensive information out there. Curious to get any anonymous replies from incoming first-year associates: Which firms pay stipends, which ones give advances, in what amounts, and in which cities?

Anyone know about Mayer? It says $10,000 stipend on NALP, but it wasn't mentioned in the offer letter. Also, is the stipend independent of bar review/exam fees or is it meant to cover those expenses?

This is another good question, and I think it varies by firm.

That's really not a lot of money to support a family... guess I'll have to work while bar reviewing :(

a similar question:
Do firms usually pay Barbri directly? This is an option on Barbri's payment webpage.
Or can i pay Barbri first and then get refund from the firm?

If I paid out of my own pocket without knowing the answer, I hope the firm would still reimburse me.
