Is this some sort of humble brag or are you such an aspie that you are really planning what to say if you get an offer?
(hint: if it is the latter you probably are not getting an offer).

Re: what did you say when you got your SA offer?
Maybe you should say thank you?
Just be normal. "Thank you so much, I really enjoyed meeting everyone today/last week/whatever. I'm going to talk it over with my spouse/fiance or I'm sure you understand this is a big decision and I'd like to take time to consider your generous offer."
They'll probably be like, "Of course, we understand. Your offer letter is on its way to you. Thanks and hope to hear from you soon."

well, i didn't mean to offend you guys. i did want to hear people's thoughts because it's an important topic. keep in mind you're still being interviewed after you get a SA offer.

It's really not that crazy a question, esp. Since partners can get very pushy/ interrogative once they extend an offer.

I have not had a single person pressure me to accept an offer on the spot. They call, they say they're extending you an offer, you get/pretend to get excited, they say the letter is in the mail, they say you can schedule another time to come in and talk to more people, you thank them, hang up the phone.
You guys are ridiculous.

yes i felt that way. also i imagine the extremely difficult decision of which SA must be cut is not so difficult when a SA gave off the impression he/she was entitled, ungrateful, or using your firm as a backup plan to begin with.

You say "I accept" before the partner is done with the sentence.

"Gee whiz thanks, hopefully this rash clears up before then! Also your mother is a whore." Then I screamed into the phone and slammed it down.

Why do people with sub-100 posts even use anon?

Why do you fucking non-humble brag by starting a thread about offers? Thought you were cooler than that, but I was wrong.

Ahh! I don't think it's such a ridiculous question. Perhaps the answer is clear (the above sounds pretty standard), but I can imagine that this could be a bit of an awkward phone call. Just remember they're used to it, they don't expect you to be ready to make such a big decision in a moment.

Are you talking about the thread she started before she got her offer?
The one I started to get people anony-bragging about their offers the fuck out of the SA anxiety thread? Surely he couldn't mean that...

But really, isn't any phone call with a law student on the other end a bit awkward?
