Background Check

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Aug 20, 2012 6:16 pm

I have a disorderly conduct and an underage drinking (both civil municipal citations) from 6 years ago. Chances this will get me dinged from CBs/CB offers rescinded/no offered from biglaw? Search has turned up some related threads, but not real answers. Thanks.

My firm did background checks on the SAs over the summer. I was told by the hiring partner that it is an HR policy to do this to all employees, but with respect to lawyers, if you can pass the bar C&F checks then you would pass the firms less rigorous background check. I have no idea how common this is among other Vault firms.

V50. The rationale seemed to be that they did this to everybody rather than single out the staff for "special" treatment.
