Post-SA Offer Rescisions?

Postby Anonymous User » Fri Aug 17, 2012 12:39 pm

Besides the economy tanking, what are reasons for post-SA offers being rescinded?

Has anyone had their post-SA offers rescinded? For what reasons?

uh, felony convictions?

This is very close to unheard of, and you said "besides the economy tanking" which would be the #1 reason I know of.

At Vault firms it won't happen unless your firm collapses (like Dewey or Howrey) or you do something like drunkenly set fire to a 9/11 memorial. IIRC McDermott converted three incoming associates to staff attorneys a few years ago after deferring them, but that's the only instance I'm aware of.
