at a V10, get wine regardless. V11-V20, it's okay to get a beer as long as you aren't the first to do so. V21-V27, you can get a beer as long as wine has not been explicitly discussed prior to ordering, but only Heineken or Beck's. at a V28, you can only get Beck's. at V29 and below, high life is credited in all situations.

IDK, at V28 Beck's is pretty dicey. But, yeah, your def cool with Equis at a V28.

Whoa...You think Heineken=more prestigious than Beck's? Good luck with unemployment, bro.

We drank McCormick's and RC Cola at my non-Vault secondary market "biglaw" firm.

If you go to a firm dinner but it is not a cb, should you write thank you notes to all the attys there? Or maybe just the organizer?

I'd write that this thread is unbelievable, but we're on TLS, where ostensibly bright individuals struggle to parse the difference between coffee and lunch.

Congac VSOP.

I've never had a callback dinner, but I am employed. If I did have a call back dinner I would order cognac. But since that stage of life has come and gone, I usually order Coors Light or a micro brew that sounds good.

Pay attention to what the associates order--mainly the price. Order something you like in that price range. There are two main situations where your alcohol choice becomes pretentious: 1) You discuss your alcohol with someone who doesn't care, or 2) you bemoan the fact your preferred alcohol isn't available. (There is almost always an acceptable substitute, and if you can't find a replacement, you likely have idiosyncratic preferences and don't need to complain when the world doesn't cater to them.)

Wtf?

But you can say horrible things that are very offensive to hurricane victims without consequence. Got it

It was a day. He will live. But a few posts above when he initially necro'd a five year old thread a few months ago he was told to stop.

And yea, that was a bad look. I apologized for a drunken failed attempt at a joke prior to the storm hitting. It obviously looked even worse in retrospect and would have/am fine taking a ban for it.

I was thinking jack and coke would be safe, but then say I order that and the three partners with me all order wines by name. What's a safe, manly, mature drink to order?
Jack and coke? Are you serious? Are you 17 years old drinking secretly from your parents lol. Never ever order jack and coke or anything with coke, they will realize that you grew up in a rural area (it is obvious that you did).

You must order vine depending on what you have ordered for dinner. If you are eating fish or chicken you must order white. If you are eating steak, order red.
