Got a Nixon Peabody CB today and a rejection from Drinker Biddle (via snail mail). Also got an offer from a V25 yesterday and I accepted! :)

yes...just say the truth. i have no idea why you would go on callbacks if you already have offers from firms you prefer.

I was the person who was previously freaking out because everyone else I knew had offers. Accepted a same day offer from my number one firm after going on countless terrible callbacks. It was meant to be and all the stress was a waste, so don't worry if you're still waiting. The firm you love will be able to tell and the feeling will (hopefully) be mutual.

As far as cancelling callbacks and/or withdrawing from consideration, I called the recruiters during business hours and told them I had already accepted with another firm. Most wanted to know which firm so I told them. Most were also very understanding and happy I found a place that felt like the right fit. Many of their hiring committees hadn't met yet, which was further proof I stressed for no reason. One hiring partner I really connected with called me personally to congratulate me and say that while it was a bummer I wouldn't be joining their firm, she was happy for me and to keep in touch.

Also, IMO you should call during business hours so you look like a grown up who can handle talking to them rather than waiting until late so you can leave a voicemail or emailing. Also I prefer not to leave a paper trail. Never know where you may go in the future.

ahh, in that case, yeah, just say you're accepting an offer elsewhere and thank them. congrats!

Kinda. I'm hoping that two CBs will be enough to get an offer.

If I don't get an offer before bar review on thursday, yes. Still waiting on 3 callbacks...

If I don't get an offer by end of next week, shit has hit the fan.

It is still really early. And the people that got lots of offers (already and in the near future) will have to be declining most of them so there will be plenty of spots.

Unfortunately, I don't find this very reassuring at the moment.

Does anyone else have a CB at Conkle, Kremer, and Engel?

They are a small firm, but they seemed cool. They probably didn't interview that many people though due to their size.

Yup. 5 CBs --> silence. This is excruciating.

No info on Reed Smith btw.

If they didn't explicitly give you a timetable, I think at about 2 weeks it's roughly a good time to see where they are in the decision process.

FWIW, this is what the CSO at my school recommends too.
