secondary- just outside top 10% ( like a 3.58) and i bid pretty conservatively + decent amount of work experience

edit: also 1 of them was not through oci but through mass mail

But guys, wasn't being charming during 20 minute screeners supposed to bring about callbacks and offers? Even to energetic median kids?

This is how you get a job from Fordham:

1) Connections (yes, this includes working for clients)
2) Top 10% + LR combo (based on the strength of these things on your resume they'll actually take a minute to take you seriously if you don't know anybody)
3) 1L SA and/or extensive related work experience
4) Luck (anybody who doesn't fit any of the above that manages to swing something because things go extremely their way)

It's just the state of the market, sorry folks. All you can do now is mass mail and pray, but if 20 minute screeners do nothing to change someone's mind then seeing my resume in their email won't either. But here's to hoping. I'm waiting on one last CB...it's brutal out there. Go to the BU/BC OCI thread if you still don't believe the realities at this point.

Cliffs:
- mass mail and pray

I've been lurking on this thread since the beginning, have appreciated the info, so thought I'd share my results. Just inside top 25%, secondary, technical undergrad degree, very unique WE (probably a positive in some eyes, and a red flag in others). 11 screeners, 4 CBs (2 at patents, 2 general) - I thought all 4 interviews went very well, dinged by 3 of them, fortunate enough to receive an offer at one of the patent firms. As a Paul Campos blog reader I had low expectations going in, but felt buoyed by getting 4 CBs. To feel you hit it out of the park on each of them only to strike out on 3 out of 4 lets me know how rough things are out there. Consider myself extremely lucky. Best of luck to everyone.

I know a lot of people who feel this way. :(

same. im top 15% - 8 cbs - rejections from 3 already and silence for a long time on the others.... not feeling too great

How long are you waiting? I feel like firms take a long time to get back to kids at Fordham not on LR because they look at the elite schools first. I know a lot of people still waiting with no responses from callbacks and I'm assuming there is hope for offers well into October as people start turning down offers.

Bracewell rejection via snail mail today. Screener through mass mail, top 25-30%, no journal.

not sure if kidding.
I thought that CPC - as useless as they generally are - was at least honest about this one point: only an incredibly small percentage of the class will get a gig through OCI. It's all such a crap shoot, man.

I'm top 30-33%, secondary journal, "diverse" (LGBT) w/ VERY good litigation work experience. Had 11 screeners, 6 callbacks. 1 rejection so far, silence from the rest for over a week, headed to final callback TODAY. Everyone @ Fordham who I talked to from last year w/ 4+ callbacks ended up w/ at least 1 offer... but should I be worried?

hopefully one of them will come through for you but i think if you read above you'll see people with pretty high grades/ a decent # of callbacks w/ work experience are struggling this year too... not sure if this is true but i read a few articles saying that legal hiring is rough this year because its an election year

*edit: good luck with your last callback!

Thanks - I know it's rough but I don't get any impression it is *ROUGHER* than last year. I'm holding out hope that, as an earlier poster said, the Fordham kids just have to WAIT WAIT WAIT for the elite school kids to turn down offers. That should start happening this week and next...

Ugh, this waiting! I hate staring at my phone, jumping every time a random 212 number appears. I get nervous every time I open my mailbox, or check my e-mail. I just want one firm to put a ring on my finger... it doesn't even need to be the perfect fit anymore.

Yep. And have been told by some friends inside the firms that it's because "they like you, but they've got too many people sitting on offers."

So... Do you think we will end up with anything?
