Capitalize journal position in cover letter?

Postby Anonymous User » Sun Jul 29, 2012 8:22 pm

Subject says it all. I'm a managing editor on my journal. It looks equally weird to me to write "As a Managing Editor of Student Work on ..." as it does "As a managing editor of student work on..." I'm not the only one with the position, either.

I would treat it similarly to a job title and not capitalize it unless you (for some odd reason) were using it directly in conjunction with your name.

When in doubt, follow a style manual (and don't capitalize).
