Well, shit. I guess I should stop paying attention to those "just don't get sloppy drunk and hit on the partner's wife and you'll get an offer" threads.

Or maybe the firm had financial pressures and needed to make cuts.

Or a combination of finances and a scathing review from a senior associate about something that was simple to find?

I am not the original poster of this thread but I had a scathing review from a rainmaking partner on a project last summer. All my other reviews were great except for this one that pretty much said "I would not support making an offer."

I went out of my way to thank the partner for the feedback, get another project from her, and kick that project's ass. Ended up with an offer.

Moral is, do not let one review scare you. Of course you do not prefer a negative review, but let your reaction speak more about you.

How do y'all know if you got a bad report? I fear that one of the associates I worked for wasnt happy with my work.
