Why do it unless it's asked? It's easy as sh*t to get good LOR's. They mean nothing. That's why firms typically ask for references, so they can ask probing questions (which still doesn't typically lead anywhere - so many firms don't ask for this type of info at all).

Definitely do not give the letter. Give his number if you're asked for references, that's it
