Targeted mails as transfer - alumni ?

Post by Anonymous User » Tue Jul 24, 2012 12:29 pm

I'm mailing firms in a secondary market and I wanted to send a quick email to an associate alumn at the firm to (hopefully) make sure my stuff gets looked over. I just transferred into CLS from a law school in the same market.

What's the proper way to phrase an email like this? Just politely tell them that I go to CLS and that I've applied to be an SA at their firm? Do I ask anything of them..?

Should I add the stuff about transferring? Kinda weird to be touting myself as a CLS student when I've never even seen the place, but I guess I will be soon enough.

Thanks
