Info is third-hand. I expect public news will be forthcoming.

Can confirm this is what I heard as well. Rumour has it that OPM isn't sure the Agency had received approval to begin an Honors Program, so there's questions about whether the procedure adopted by the Agency is similar to existing Honors Programs for other agencies (i.e. excepted v nonexcepted positions). Its unclear how long hiring will be blocked for, or whether there will be a subsequent freeze.

my luck would have it such that something like this would happen this year.

I know, this has really screwed over a lot of good people. But from what I've heard, this is an evolving situation. I'd try to stay in touch with the office you received an offer from, if at all possible. Don't be too hopeful, but it's not clear traditional hire (post-Bar) options won't be available.

Hey all, don't get too excited but I have heard that some offers have been approved again. Calls should be made today/shortly.

Is your interview for the honors program or are you a lateral?

Did DOL actually reinstate offers? I want to make this clear if they didn't because the next class should seriously be wary of what happened this year and how it affected those who probably decline other offers thinking they'll be set working for DOL this fall.

I figure it's unlikely, but has anyone heard from any of the NLRB regional offices lately?

Been referred for a few of those NLRB "open to the first 50 applicants" positions that showed up on USAjobs, but no interviews yet. I assume those postings were wired for people who got their honors program offers rescinded. Has anyone heard different?

I haven't heard different, but some of those openings were GS-11 and others were GS-12 (requiring bar membership) so I'm not positive that all the openings were specifically to get the Honors hires their jobs.

I went on an interview for one of those GS-11 jobs and wasn't an honors grad. That said, it was a weird interview, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were going through the motions to pre-select someone.

The job I applied to was filled (GS 11 in regional midwestern office).

If the posted positions were a way to hire the Honors Attorneys, the different GS levels might just reflect the experience of the Honors Attorney the specific office was targeting. Honors Attorneys coming out of clerkships probably start at GS-12.

Just letting you know that it's possible to start GS-13 coming out of clerkships, depending on the length of clerkship.
