Oh, looks like the industry-wide mailing room strike is over. Post-CB ding from Blank Rome; post-screener (lol) dings from Sidley and Willkie. All NY, all snail mail.

Anyone discuss splitting summers with either satellite offices or another firm? How did it go and is there any risk in asking?

I've discussed splitting with another firm in a different market exclusively in all of my callbacks. As far as I can tell, it hasn't adversely affected me in any way. I think if you're sincere about why you want to split, firms will be understanding and the worst thing they'll say is that they won't allow you to split.
The risk is obviously that you're not seriously committed to the firm and you thus risk not getting an offer. As I've said though, I have no reason to believe that firms are that petty.

Re: NYU EIW MADNESS 2012
EIW Survey e-mail mentions the following possibility: if you had a CB with a firm and haven't heard back yet, you can let OCS know and they will contact the employer and I assume go to bat on your behalf with the firm.
Does that sound risky to anybody or should I just go for it?

Re: NYU EIW MADNESS 2012
Unless you wouldnt feel comfortable accepting an offer if given what's the risk? It can't possibly hurt you since it's Irene lobbying on your behalf. You just have to be prepared to drop everything else and immediately accept. Like no more CB's and no attending events at other firms where you may have an offer...Anonymous User wrote:EIW Survey e-mail mentions the following possibility: if you had a CB with a firm and haven't heard back yet, you can let OCS know and they will contact the employer and I assume go to bat on your behalf with the firm.
