Re: GULC 2012 EIW
Offers from two NYC firms in the V30-ish range. Like them both, will do post-offer visits. Still have callbacks with three other firms (V30, V50, 2xV90ish), canceled two other callbacks, awaiting results of V20 callback.

Since we're not posting firm names anymore: offer from one V10 and callbacks with a V10, V20, and V30. All in DC.

Offers from one NYC (V40), four DC (V30, V60, V80, NLJ250). Waiting on post-CB decisions from two NYC (V10s). Got one more DC (V100) CB. Cancelled five other CBs. One post-CB rejection from Patton Boggs DC.

Offers from V10 NYC, 2 from V20 NYC, 1 V20 DC, canceling a few of my other callbacks, will probably take the offer from the V10.

The Keller and Heckman recruiter responded to me in late August that the recruiting committee would be meeting soon to determine screeners... but I haven't heard anything yet

oh wow so they havent done any callbacks yet? I thought they would have offered callbacks within two days of a screener for the "sure" candidates and then left the rest as "maybes"Anonymous User wrote:The Keller and Heckman recruiter responded to me in late August that the recruiting committee would be meeting soon to determine screeners... but I haven't heard anything yet

Re: GULC 2012 EIW
Checking in...I updated my previous post with all of the info; it's on p4 of this thread for posterity. The abridged version is that I have a few offers and I'm pleased to be in a position to choose.
Lessons learned:
Lessons learned:
- EIW is not (and should not be) the end of job-hunting.
Fit is incredibly important.
People do read the writing sample.
I was pretty chill about interviewing, and I think that not being overly stressed helped.
Ask interesting questions; it's not as hard as it seems to have an adult conversation.
Definitely do mock interviews.
Don't be paralyzed by thinking that you have to know everything right now; people are okay with hearing that you have multiple goals and desires.
Always be on time.
Wear a fucking great suit.

Approximate class rank:median
Journal: (Law and Public Policy)
Moot Court, Beaudry, etc.: no thanks
IP backbround: no
Significant work experience: yes, probably in top 10% of GULC'ers here- finance, corporate consulting, technology, energy
America/business/finance/accounting/tax/paralegal/etc.) Yes/No is enough
Years out of undergrad: 2+
Prestigious undergrad: Yes(in football)/Locally (academics)
Other relevant factors: I am not really that serious/stone-faced in interviews, don't talk about the law if I don't have to, etc.-not sure if helped or hurt me.
Target markets: DC
Type of work sought: Doesn't matter- grades indicate litigation but work experience/education puts me in corporate, tried not to commit unless I knew what they were looking for-
Self-assessed interviewing ability: good, but bimodal, tend not to translate that well with New Yorkers.
Screeners or callbacks prior to EIW from mass-mailing: 2 from mass mailing- K&L Gates DC and Pryor Cashman- 2 from SIP- which I cancelled
Screeners received for EIW: 16
Callbacks received from EIW screeners: 2- V30, V50 DC for both
Offers received: 1- V50- DC, already accepted
Journal: (Law and Public Policy)
Moot Court, Beaudry, etc.: no thanks
