For every office? I have the feeling it might be worth bidding the DC office even if you're slightly below that, particularly if you have a science background, IP background, or an interest in ITC practice. Maybe it will be different this year, though, since last year the DC office missed OCI.

Just picked up Morgan Lewis (DC) but have a Jones Day (DC) interview back to back. I suppose this means I have to pick one...

Can anyone tell me which slots are left for for Morgan Lewis (SF) and Jones Day (SD)? I just cannot pick up the interview slots with them. I would like to cancel one of my current ones to fit in.

I think what's happening is that a slot opening for one location shows up as an opening for all of them because they're all listed as one schedule, although that's total speculation on my part. ML has a Pittsburgh slot and jones one for Chicago. No idea how set they are about location, so it might be worth it to take and plead a case for your ideal city

Do most of you have like 80% of your interviews squeezed into Monday and Tuesday?

If we cancel an interview we just added today, will we be able to have another bid for today or will we still have to wait 24 hours?

I want Jones Day DC so bad, but I will say you should choose Jones Day over Morgan Lewis simply because larger class size means the odds are in your favor.

I have to decide between MoFo DC and Chadbourne NYC. Hmm.
(Reluctantly) dropping Morgan Lewis (DC) in a minute. Watch for it!

Damn - a lot of firms opening. Dropped Morgan Lewis (DC) and grabbed Simpson Thacher (NY) almost immediately. Saw Skadden and QE open as well.

Okay, I am confused so perhaps you guys can help me out. Symplicity allowed me to sign up for three interviews within the last 24 hours. I thought only two was allowed. Any ideas why?

Also, I have one interview that is back to back with another. I just added it. I added it before I checked to see my other interview times. However, the cancellation deadline has passed. I am virtually guaranteed to be late to the second interview. Ideas?

Check with OCS for the answer to your second question. I suppose it looks poorly for the school to cancel interviews this late in the process, but they'll do it for "extenuating circumstances." They might suggest you run from the first interview to the second; just make sure you know where both rooms are before you go into the first interview, and, with luck, you can show up only 1 or 2 minutes late for the second interview. If the interviewer seems offended, just tell him the truth?

Honestly, the only reason I would drop one of the interviews is if I wanted a job with the second interviewing firm more so than the first.

I would pick your favorite and be slightly late/leave slightly early for the other. I would just explain that it was a scheduling mistake through Symplicity.

I didn't think about leaving slightly early, though that might be more awkward than arriving slightly late (asking permission v. forgiveness). Still, you don't have another option besides dropping an interview, so you might as well do it.

At the meeting today this was specifically addressed: they're used to it, it's not a big deal, just leave on time and show up slightly late, tell them why.

As you can see above, I went. It was not extremely useful, however, at least for those of us who have been doing real prep/research for EIW. Hiring partner panel could have been interesting, but the answers were too safe and obvious. GPA is important. If low GPA (i.e., below firm median hiring GPA), address it. Don't say you want to do something that our firm at x location doesn't really do.

Oh, and advice from OCS: don't make out with SO at hotel. Don't answer telephone during interview.

Really? You needed 90 minutes of my time to tell me those things?

Seriously? What are you waiting for?

Now there's a charge.
