NYC interview program (Vandy, Wash U, Tulane)

Post by Anonymous User » Mon Jul 09, 2012 10:07 am

Anyone know when we can expect to start hearing from firms about whether we were selected for an interview?

My school was a bit unclear but mentioned in one of the things they wrote about these programs that we'd be able to see interviews "after" July 9. I guess this is terribly helpful information anymore. The weird holiday schedule must've delayed things a bit.

Does anyone know if this is a "trickle" sort of notification, or if it'll be all at once? I think it'd be better for my productivity and sanity if it was all at once, but I guess this is a grass is greener sort of thing.

Also wondering, if anyone knows, whether the firms use Symplicity themselves, or if their picks have to go back through one of the participating schools to notify applicants.

WilmerHale NYC office was just added, in case people didn't see. Deadline to apply is the 16th.

I heard it was slow like this last year. Dumb/nervous question, but they'll have to change the pre-select sign-up deadline, right?

Looks like they pushed the sign-up period back to July 13th-19th and some of the decisions are starting to trickle in (I've heard from 4 to this point).

does anybody know if the pre-selects are actually trickling in or is there just a single wave of selects and if not selected in that wave then no interview. I have been selected for 6 and the firms that i havent heard from say "pending"

I'm not sure, we could probably tell based on who we've heard from. I've heard from Alston, Cleary, Davis Polk, and Chadbourne.

I have heard from those plus Jones Day and Proskauer. I would guess that there are going to be waves of preselects over the next couple days.

So do the "pending" ones mean not selected? Or does anyone have "not selected" for the firms that people have listed here?

I'm thinking all the selections are in and the pendings are in fact not selected.

Does anyone know when we can expect to start hearing from the DC firms?

agree that all firms have made selections. however, why the pre-select until the 19th then? What changes are they anticipating by Thursday? (Perhaps, if someone didn't accept a bid, it goes back to the firm to decide between alternates?)
