Checking back in. Buddy of mine got LW NY CB. I got CB different office. Weird. Any CLS CBs there? Curious as to how many CBs these firms do for limited 3L spots.Anonymous User wrote:Different T14 here, but Latham NY told me at OCI that they did not have spots yet until acceptances are complete. Did they tell you that too?

Even if you tell them you have an offer and you put it on your resume, they still call your summer firm? Crap...Anonymous User wrote:I heard about it on this board and then confirmed with OCS that Cravath does in fact often do this, usually before they give a CB. OCS offered to discuss the pros and cons of interviewing with Cravath given this fact, but I just decided it wasn't worth it. Other firms will do it before they give an offer, but that is okay with me.Anonymous User wrote:Where did you hear that Cravath calls your summer firm? That seems unrealistic. Most firms likely wouldn't comment on your employment status anyway. I hope they don't do that, as I interviewed with them today.Anonymous User wrote:I dont have any inside info but I am going to tell Skadden the truth which is that I want corporate. Let's all agree to post when we get CBs so that others know they are probably out of the running and can accept offers from summer firms, if applicable. I wonder how many Skadden called in from the resume drop.Anonymous User wrote:
Any idea what Skadden and Cravath are looking for? Are they trying to recruit 3Ls for corporate, litigation, either or both? I feel like it's really bad to say you're still undecided as a 3L but if they want one and not the other, there's really no way to know...
My stats are median 1L, high stone 2L, offer from V30, PBK from prestigious undergrad, and note to be published. I am not interviewing with Cravath bc I heard they call your summer firm to check if you have an offer before giving a CB, which is too risky from my perspective. What are your guys' stats?

Well I really hope that the truth is that firms just haven't given CBs rather than that it just so happens that the few people who got them don't post here.
Let this thread be a gigantic BEWARE sign to future CLSers: don't rely on 3L EIP!!

At this point it seems more likely that those who have gotten callbacks don't post here, but who knows.

The rejections are the generic type, so no mention if they are just not hiring or I am not worth their time. Guess should start preparing for another year of unemployment hell and despair.

We've definitely answered the question as to whether there will be any meaningful 3L hiring. Now to the question as to whether there will be ANY 3L hiring. Seems bleak.

I also received a CB from a W&C/Cravath/Skadden/Susman-type firm. I know they're not all the same but since there have been so few, I don't want to provide more detail.

Anyone else hear from W&C? I've heard the deal is actually "get a clerkship and then we'll talk" but they must have had a 3L schedule for a reason, right?Anonymous User wrote:Letter ding from Williams & Connelly and Satterlee.
