They may be waiting longer for additional acceptances.

what additional acceptances? you mean summer associates who have not accepted their offers yet?

also, at least wrt skadden, they didn't create a schedule. they just squeezed us in where they could. perhaps they just wanted to see what was out there since they had the time anyway.

I was under the impression that the guy they had doing the interviews was there only for 3Ls - there was no schedule on the door indicating that he had a full schedule and we were being stuffed in during the breaks.

Mine was scheduled by email a couple days in advance, and I think they only had bios/schedules on the door for partners (3L interviewer was an associate). Did other people get interviewed on the spot after resume drops?

Mine was also in advance. Anyone know how many they interviewed? Maybe they extended a CB or two to people not on this board....or maybe the hiring committee has to meet to discuss first....who knows?

I know PW was hiring specifically for their corporate group, but they cancelled their interview schedule about a month ago. They did still collect the resumes for what that's worth.

I'm getting anxious about not having accepted my summer firm offer. I wish the firms would just reject us if that's going to be the outcome anyway.

Maybe its just me, but it seems like a tough year for 3L hiring compared to last year.

Different T14 here, but Latham NY told me at OCI that they did not have spots yet until acceptances are complete. Did they tell you that too?

NO, but that totally makes sense. I am guessing firms are probably being conservative with their hiring given fiscal cliff and EUdebtbomb issues.

I have also been told by recruiters that firms are so focused on the intense and shortened 2L hiring season that 3L hiring just gets put on the back burner.

Latham was interviewing for all kinds of offices that don't actually have any room for more first years - not sure why, but that's what I was told. I guess they're just keeping resumes of 3Ls who interviewed well on some sort of back-up list so they can call us when they, you know...

The sense I got from all the firms is that they are still waiting to hear from their summers, so unlikely they will really consider how much 3L hiring to do till maybe Sept, even Oct if even considering. The only place that seemed to be actively hiring was HP, but they only are taking 6 people or so a year.

Man was there even a single CB given at CLS 3L EIP? I would be surprised if more than three or five have gone out. 2L EIP seems slower than last year, too.

Oh, well. It is not a huge problem for me because I have an offer from my summer firm.

compared to last year's thread, the results from this year have been downright depressing
