Yup, Mayer Brown Chicago offer given last Wednesday and my callback was last Tuesday. (BTW: I hear their recruiting team meets on Wednesdays).

how many offers do most people get? is it common to have just one or is it more like 5+?

Hey, some of us have zero offers. If it's one you're happy with, be content with it.

I got a Katten Chi offer in the middle of this week (week of 9/17). CB was middle of the week before that (week of 9/10). Turnaround was a little bit over one week. One of my interviewers told me Wednesday is their hiring committee day.

Talking to someone from the class of 2012, it seems like we had a much high # of CBs . . . but that's just anecdotal.

I don't know anyone -- even people with grades well below median -- who didn't have any callbacks. I'm not sure all the people who have offers though.

Definitely know people who got 0-1 callbacks. Then of the subsect that did get multiple callbacks, there are people with zero offers. No idea how it compares to last year though.

i'm not sure how closely this correlates to grades etc, but it seems like there are many people who got TONS of callbacks and are getting TONS of offers, and then a lot who are getting 0-2 callbacks and an offer or two. doesn't seem like there are many in the middle. this could be more because of interviewing style/number of screeners/softs like LR, prior work experience than just grades though.

i don't think that this is necessarily specific to michigan, either

I think work experience has been a big thing this year. I struck out in DC pretty hard despite good grades and having spent my whole life in the area. I read on here about people with worse grades and work experience who did significantly better.
I think this might have something to do with firms trying to take fewer new associates but keep them around longer for client related reasons.Thankfully, I took the TLS advice and bid on NYC too.

Maybe it was just me then. I did well in NYC and the secondary market I bid on but got shat on in DC even though if from the area and was at or above the median for most of the firms.
