Locke Lord hasn't gone out for me either. There's no way we all got dinged. I'm guessing there's at least a 50% CB->offer rate for LL.

Can't speak for the other firms, but my friend loved the employment group at HB-FW.Anonymous User wrote:If you had a choice between Jackson Walker (Dallas), K&L Gates (Dallas), and Haynes and Boone (FW), which would be the best to take? Not exactly sure what practice area I want to be in, but I want to get some experience in different practice areas. I have an interest in Labor & Employment. Also, I would love to get at least 8 week of summer associate work, preferably 10 - 12 weeks if I can split. Any advice is welcome.

Yeah, I'd like to think this as well. There's about 10 of us at my school that interviewed with them and none of us have heard, so I'm pretty sure they're not out.Anonymous User wrote:Locke Lord hasn't gone out for me either. I wish this was true for Dallas...For the person who was saying it earlier, why do you think that there will be more coming out?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I'd like to think this as well. Shit. Didn't get a call from AK. Did they extend all offers? I'm assuming I'm dingedlawschool65 wrote:thanks. any idea how many offers they have made so far? New poster. I've not heard from LL Houston either.Anonymous User wrote:I wish this was true for Dallas...For the person who was saying it earlier, why do you think that there will be more coming out?Anonymous User wrote:Yeah, I'd like to think this as well. My guess is Houston is waiting on Dallas. While most firms allow for different bidding, Dallas and Houston are, obviously, in the same Texas market and likely have a lot of crossover (over that of say Chicago or LA). My guess is the "decisions" have been made, but Houston might be waiting to see how many acceptances Dallas has. Plus isn't the Dallas office the home office? The less in Dallas may mean more in Houston and vice versa. I have no basis for this opinon--just a thought since there is at least one Dallas offer and no word on Houston.
The only good thing is the longer they wait the more likely some the higher draft picks accept somewere else and pullout of LL.
As for AK Houston, I didn't get a CB, but I got my official email ding on Friday. I was like no shit since I didn't get a CB and it was over two weeks late. But for what its worth that means AK Houston was making some kind of movement.

Re: Texas OCI (and non-UT students bidding on TX firms)
Any news today from LL Houston?
Also, does it look bad to your firm if you only do a first half program? I've had a lot more success with first half firms than second half firms...I know some firms have a policy of allowing summer associates to stay up to 8 weeks and just wanted to know if that is like a black mark or something...

Can't speak for JW, but HayBoo Dallas is a pretty special place. Their offer rate this summer was also much, much higher than what NALP reflects for the previous year (seems to be the opposite of most Texas firms in that regard).Anonymous User wrote:Trying to decide between Jackson Walker and Haynes Boone (Dallas). Seemed pretty good. Don't think I knew anyone who billed more than 2200 hours. Unless a deal was ramping up the office would usually empty out by around 7.Anonymous User wrote: Thanks. Any insight into work/life balance at HB?

It seems that they don't have a minimum billable hour requirement, but is there an unspoken minimum firm wide or does it depend on practice area?Anonymous User wrote:Seemed pretty good. Yes. It might be just my school, although there have been multiple here (not UT).Anonymous User wrote:I'm assuming you mean they have started giving out offers?
