What's the deal with Paul Weiss? Do people have offers or dings? What has been the approximate turn-around time from callback to offer/ding? Thanks.

What would guys say about a firm bringing you in for a callback, when you absolutely do not have the grades? Are they messing with you? What is their rationale?

Re: Columbia EIP 2012 Superthread
IMO, I would say either a) they didn't notice your grades; or (more likely) b) they liked everything else about you (and perhaps you just inched past their grade cutoff, if they have one) and they are hoping you will impress them in your CB. Focus on your work experience in the callback; if you can come up with a few instances when you did a really kick-ass job on a project or assignment, that would be ideal. Also it might be worth having a quick explanation for your grades that you can toss in as an aside at some point if they are truly heinous.Anonymous User wrote:What would guys say about a firm bringing you in for a callback, when you absolutely do not have the grades? Don't worry about it. Be confident and own that interview. They clearly are clearly considering you or they wouldn't have brought you in. Either your grades are good enough or they like your other skills. If you got a callback, then you at least meet their minimums. Show them why they didn't make a mistake.Anonymous User wrote:What would guys say about a firm bringing you in for a callback, when you absolutely do not have the grades? Are they messing with you? PW NYC hiring committee meets on Mondays and Thursdays (said the recruiting assistant who showed me to my first interview). I interviewed on Tuesday morning and have yet to hear back.Anonymous User wrote:What's the deal with Paul Weiss? Do people have offers or dings?
