Other 3Ls should chime in if they had a different experience, but I don't think I received post-cb snail mail offers, just calls. You should acknowledge the voicemail and at least contact their legal recruiting office. You don't have to accept or decline, but you should acknowledge.Anonymous User wrote:do we have to respond within days to voicemail post-cb offers or can we just wait around a couple weeks or at least till we get the paper offer in the mail. by the way, how long do we have to wait for the actual paper offer in the mail?

I haven't finished callbacks and still haven't decided. do you think it's ok form to respond by email saying thank you very much, i'm very happy to receive offer and am considering options and will be in touch shortly.. that sort of thing?Anonymous User wrote:I am sending a thank you e-mail. Do some places just reject you post-screener by never following up? I've still got nothing but radio silence from 11 firms...I assume they're all dings, but it seems kind of lame if they don't even email.

I assume it's some combination of never hearing back, slow-arriving snail mail dings, and being stuck in a massive "waitlist/maybe" pile that will never actually get used (resulting in snail mail dings a month after they already knew).Anonymous User wrote:Do some places just reject you post-screener by never following up? firms definitely do have a waitlist / maybe pile. I got a ding two weeks after everyone else heard back from a firm with a small/selective summer classAnonymous User wrote:I assume it's some combination of never hearing back, slow-arriving snail mail dings, and being stuck in a massive "waitlist/maybe" pile that will never actually get used (resulting in snail mail dings a month after they already knew).Anonymous User wrote:Do some places just reject you post-screener by never following up? Re: HLS 2012 EIP Thread
I asked my host firm what they would consider to be a reasonable meal budget. They said that people in the past have used common sense, so they haven't felt the need to set a budget. My host firm last week didn't have a formal policy either, but the recruiting person with whom I spoke said offhand that she thought up to $15 for breakfast and up to $70 for dinner would be reasonable. $70 sounded a bit high to me. Any input as to what other firms seem to consider reasonable?

Does anyone know if a firm will pay for your travel/hotel again for a second look?

I've seen $50 for dinner from two firms. I agree that $70 is pretty high.Anonymous User wrote:I asked my host firm what they would consider to be a reasonable meal budget. just be warned, to demonstrate the "range" of budgets that exist, my NY host firm had 30-35 as reasonable for dinner.
