Also have 6 on the first day. Kind of stinks to have it on the first day, but I figure it won't be too bad.
THRILLED with how my schedule worked out. Hit the prior max (23) and actually got all the firms I wanted most. Very happy right now. Planning to special request for one more.

Thanks guys. By the way, does anyone know if parking will be open to people w/o permits next week? I'm thinking of leaving my car in the parking lot right in front of the main entrance with a change of clothes/shoes and some Cliff bars so I don't have to keep running back and forth to my apartment.

I had 8 interviews my first day, got 7 callbacks. I know someone that had 10 interviews that same day.
6 is definitely doable bc all the questions are generally the same.

Is it typical not to get a single lottery interview? I had 20 pre-selects and 10 alternates, and two of the alternates turned into interviews.

Pleasantly surprised here. I went from 10 to 21 interviews. All of my alternates turned into interviews, and I snagged a few more from the lottery.

Cleary. No pre-select or alternate from them.

Cleary's a tough cookie to get, it wouldn't surprise me if more than 6 had them as number 1 and you were the odd man out. But it is mildly curious that you didn't get one of the ones that followed, unless they were super popular as well/you had preselects or alternates with them.

I had a good screening interview with Cleary after getting them in the lottery last year, but they still kicked me like a bad habit. I think of all the big NYC firms, Cleary is deceptively grade selective. You have Cravath, you have Wachtell, but after that, I think Cleary is pickier than Skadden, DPW, Debevoise, Weil, uh, whoever else is in the V10.
I'm glad to see people are getting a good number of interviews and that the cap was raised a bit. Good luck to everyone.

Agreed. Also, SullCrom is V10 and grade-picky. Kirkland/Latham/Simpson probably on par with the others you mentioned.
In more serious news, is KDon just killing it now that he's a few years into his job? Everyone on here seems to have a ton more interviews than what I remember last year. Maybe it's just that the BigLaw market needs more summer associates. More likely it seems like KD is just out-hustlin' everyone (I heard he was out on the west coast for part of the summer talking about UVa to a bunch of law firms).

DC and another non-NY major market. 11 preselects.

Looks like there are way more interviews to go around this year. Thank your lucky stars / deity of choice / kevin donovan (who may, to many, be the deity of choice) class of 2014.

I got the impression that firms did a better job of giving PS and Alts to people who were more likely to take them. From personal experience, I'm in the top 10% and had a much higher rate of getting chosen by top firms than some lower ones I bid. I think that helped people along the gpa distribution to get more interviews with firms they're likely to land offers with.
Also, at least a few people with decent offers coming into OGI chose not to take the full 23 when they could have. Know of at least one who took less than 10. That might have opened up a few more interviews for folks just under top 10% (and then subsequently bumped a few more down, and so on).
And yes, Donovan is the shit.

I'll second that I know several people who declined most (or all) of their OGI interviews because they had already received an offer they wanted to take.
Of course, I'm not sure how that will translate to the rest of us getting CBs and offers even if we have lots of screeners. I've heard some talk about the ratio of conversion from screener to CB... any thoughts on the difference between PS/alt and lottery conversion rates?
