This is my first attempt at a bid list, all offices are NYC, I'm leaning towards corp. I selected the firms based on GPA data I have from my school plus class sizes listed on NALP. Any and all feedback is appreciated. A 3.53 is definitely top 1/3, maybe even top 1/4.

1. Schulte
2. Jones Day
3. Kirkland
4. Dechert
5. Weil
6. Linklaters
7. Milbank
8. clifford chance
9. White and Case
10. Latham
11. Proksauer
12. Shearman and Sterling
13. Fried Frank
14. Gibson
15. Allen and Overy
16. Quinn
17. Paul Weiss
18. Skadden
19. Simpson Thacer & Bartlet
20. Davis Polk
21. Cravath
22. Cleary

This is mine (minus some firms in an identifying market). I have a 3.44. Looking at it I see some changes I'd make (like I know I'm not getting an interview with K&L Gates at 14). I threw some hail marys at the end hoping to get a late bid interview. My uneducated guess is you underbid a bit, but maybe I overbid.

1) Linklaters, NYC
2) Caldwalder, NY
3) Sutherland, DC
4) [Omitted]
5) Wiel, NY
6) [Omitted]
7) Kirkland, NY
8) Crowell & Morring, DC
9) Venable, DC, Tysons, Baltimore
10) Jones Day, NYC
11) [Omitted]
12) Shearman & Sterling, NY
13) [Omitted]
14) K&L Gates, DC
15) dla piper, Washington Baltimore
16) [Omitted]
17) Paul Hastings, NY
18) Latham, NY
19) hogan lovells, DC, Tysons, Baltimore
20) Fried Frank, NY
21) Paul Wiess, NY
22) [Omitted]
23) Cravath, NY
24) Gibson Dun, NY
25) MoFo
26) O’Melney Myers, NY
27) [Omitted]
28) Allen & Overy, NY
29) Winston & Strawn, DC
30) WilmerHale, DC

I have another list with the summer associate size and U of M average gpa on it but idk if the PM works with the anon user feature. PM me if you don't have that info and see if it works.

No offense, but a 3.44 is not good enough for Cravath. You're likely to get an interview even with bidding them low but it is a total waste of a bid. Are there no other firms that you'd like to bid on? Perhaps one in a secondary market?

Can I assume this advice also applies to a 3.5?

Look at the GPA breakdowns on the list OCP posted. You're both basically between the median and the low. Definitely not a waste of a bid (though maybe not likely).
