I am being offerred a full scholarship to go to California Western. I went on law school transparency and was linked to the following employment statistics: http://www.cwsl.edu/content/career_serv ... tStats.pdf

I'm not really interested in BigLaw and the employment statistics actually look solid to me...unless I'm missing something. 91% reported, with over 80% employed. 60K starting is nothing to sneeze at, especially since I will be graduating with less debt than that amount for living expenses. Thoughts?

Wrong forum; this should be under Choosing a Law School.

43.5% of the class of 2010 had long-term JD-required legal jobs, 9 months after graduation. 25% of the class is just flat unemployed, not even working at Starbucks. It's not the worst in the country, but it's right down there.

The vast majority of the grads who claim to be employed by firms work for firms of 2-10 people. This is typically a couple of classmates, desperate for jobs, who band together and rent an office and try to start a small firm. This is a VERY difficult way to start a career.

You quote $60k, but from the data, we can only tell that 5.7% of the class of 2010 was making at least $61k, because only 11.3% reported salary. (Hint: the other 89% are probably not making $160k, or even $60k.)

Also they are famous for their scholarship stipulations. What are they for you? Top third? I stay far away.

Yes, top third. However, 1st year is paid for guaranteed anyway and I would think that if I was not in the top third by the end of my first year, the odds of securing a job post-graduation would be nill anyway and I would drop out.
