It's better than being straight-up dinged. They can love us equally until they get to know us better.

^^ To Anon above
I'm so sorry I can imagine how you feel. It doesn't hurt to keep pushing, though. The worst that can happen is they don't give you an interview. I can imagine you're feeling awful, but I bet you can turn it around if she's a reasonable person. Good luck!!

Still just getting emails saying "Wait until September" or "Apply through our website/lawrecruit/throw your resume into the oubliette"

these online applications are the worst. why are they any better than just receiving resumes through e-mail?crossarmant wrote:Still just getting emails saying "Wait until September" or "Apply through our website/lawrecruit/throw your resume into the oubliette"

I didn't count dings at all. I just kept mailing and doing stuff until I had an offer in hand.ilovesf wrote:Boo. First ding from a midsize sf firm, they said they aren't takig SAs. I feel like most mid/small firms here aren't taking any.

Did a job fair and just got an email saying they want to defer a decision on my application until after they do OCI at my school... Is this a soft rejection? Sad because it seemed like one of my better interviews.

pretty sure it's standard practice to send your stuff to the recruiting coordinator.fatduck wrote:this is the first time i've heard of thisAnonymous User wrote:...crap. Did this too. Well, at least I know now!piccolittle wrote:Oh man, I feel dumb. I've been addressing and sending my stuff to the recruiting contact. It hasn't seemed to hurt that much so far, but now I'm wondering about those firms I really like that haven't responded...

If it's any consolation, I had 2 screeners at a job fair turn into CBs long after I screened, and after the firms had done OCI at other schools.Anonymous User wrote:Did a job fair and just got an email saying they want to defer a decision on my application until after they do OCI at my school... That said, quit worrying about shit you can't control. Keep applying until you have a job.

May I ask when you applied? Also, did the recruiting coordinator send you an e-mail to set up the telephone/skype screener?Anonymous User wrote:telephonic/skype screener with hill ward henderson in tampa.

Are both of you targeting Tampa? I did my interview with Hill Ward last week, and apparently, I was one of the first interviews. The recruiter said callbacks wouldn't occur until mid-to-late August.
