Is a CBE LLM any different than an ABA one?

Both are not required for any license and if it's just to use the initials and title, why not save the money and just get the cheap online one? Still puts the initials on the biz cards.

Seeing as Google didn't help me and it was only from reading what I assume is your post to LLM-guide that I figured out you were talking about Council for Basic Education or Distance Education and Training Council-institution LLMs, I don't have much faith in this thread, but I'll take a shot.

Yes, it matters immensely getting an LLM from an ABA-accredited school v. a non-ABA accredited school. While an LLM is worthless and a non-tax LLM from a non-elite school is utterly worthless, an LLM from a non-ABA accredited school might reach a new low is worthlessness. I've never seen LLM put on business cards and the type of lawyer who is getting an LLM from a TTTT or unaccredited school is targeting a group of clients who really don't care about the credentials they have. If you already are admitted to the bar, there is no reason to get such a worthless piece of paper and if you aren't admitted to the bar, holding yourself out as someone doing legal work via an LLM designation on your business card seems like a terrible idea due to UPL laws.

What about marketing? The average idiot on the street sees more initials after your name and gets out the checkbook. Even if the see "Taft" they don't know it means any difference.
