2L RA Position

How valuable is an RA position for resume purposes? I have summer employment, but no guarantees of a job at the end, so I'm trying to keep an eye towards 3L job hunt.

I was asked by a professor to be his RA for a summer research project. Is that something I shouldn't turn down, as long as I can work it around my summer jobs? Is it a good resume boost?

not necessarily a resume boost, but if the prof is well connected, he/she could help you out in the job hunt if you end up needing it.

I'm working two biglaw jobs this summer, but still doing weekend small side projects for the professor I worked for during the school year.

yeah mine basically said: give me a list of the judges you most want to clerk for; I will personally call each one. That's really the only benefit. Well, if the professor is well known by local alum then it'll come up as a talking point during job interviews. That's a benefit I guess.

Other than that there's no huge benefit, except that most schools pay pretty nicely and its nice to have that minimal commitment but consistent cash flow during the school year.
