Which would you choose, all else equal (same market, liked both, etc. etc.)?

If DC... then not enough info to decide. You're talking about two firms that couldn't be more different.

How so, culture? Not concerned with practice strengths.

I'm sorry, but the fact that you are asking this question about these two particular firms shows that you haven't done a lick of research at all. Check out Chambers.

ETA: Came off a little short. The reason I say this is that Quinn famously has a unique culture.

Culture as well as practice. Quinn is a hard-charging litigation firm where billing 2400 hours/month is effectively mandatory. It has a great IP practice and plaintiff-side tendencies. A&P is an old-school DC firm that has yet to embrace the idea of extracting every last $ from their associates and has built its reputation on defense work in the area of products liability, mass-torts, and antitrust.

What market? 1L, 2L, or full-time position?

Have read Chambers & other materials; just interested in getting takes from board members.

Full-time, not DC.

Quinn LA or other Quinn office?

Quinn LA is pretty much night and day from other firms. It is like a huge hangout session where everyone works 1,000,000 hours, but is happy because they get to hang out with their bros.

Also, John Quinn and Bill Urqhart are both legendary and cults of personalities surround them. It is probably closet thing to working at the firm from "Boston Legal," except everyone has just stopped off at Zumiez and the tanning salon.

From what I've heard of A&P they don't murder their associates as much as some other firms. I heard 930Am-730PM is a typical day. Not every Sunday is spent working. However, you do take work home.
