When did you do the CB interview? I did mine a week ago but still have not heard from them yet.

i'm curious how people are doing at OCI vs. PLIP. i know in the run-up to PLIP this year there were some doom and gloom posts about people getting 1 CB out of 30 preselects, and that many firms don't plan to call anyone back from PLIP, etc. whereas i have like a 75% cb/screener ratio at PLIP compared to 15% at OCI (and didn't bid all that aggressively, either). were firms much more generous with CBs at PLIP this year, or am i an outlier? did i become a terrible interviewer overnight?

For me, diversity fair > PLIP > OCI (so far). I was 100% for diversity fair

Anything lottery is going to have a lower (probably a lot lower) success rate than anything preselect. Add to that the fact that firms come to PLIP with lower standards because they know they're getting patent people, and your experience doesn't seem too far off what you'd expect.

for reasons beyond my control, i did not go to PLIP, so I can't compare PLIP and OCI directly. But I can say that OCI has been really damn kind to me.

I came straight through from undergrad EE. Of 22 interviews, I received 9 CBs, plus 2 more interviews requested by firms that the lottery system did not connect me with, which both led to CBs in addition to those 9. Plus, with no screening interview, I received a CB at a really good firm that did not attend my school's OCI (hooray for knowing the right person at the right time!) And of the four firms that I have actually gone on CBs with, I have received 2 offers so far.

before this process, I really was unsure of whether IP secure was actually a thing, or if it was just something talked about in a "grass is greener" sense by people without tech backgrounds. By comparison with peers without the tech background, I now believe IP secure is definitely a thing.

At least some sort of grade/school approximation would be helpful here.

I received a ding by mail from a firm. The language says that they "remain interested" and will contact for "next round". Is this standard language or is there some hope here.

Nah, that's not standard. On the other hand, if they won't even give you a callback right now, I wouldn't get your hopes up.

3L here. Just got a letter from a firm I was selected as an alternate for saying they apologized for not being able to offer me an interview slot at the program. However.....(good thing I read the rest of the letter)...they said if I was still interested, they would like me to send transcripts from my undergraduate, graduate, and law schools and reasons why their firm/location/future goals/plan for long-term.

Good sign?

Fellow 3L. I too received that letter, and the firm had not selected me as an alternate. I assume they just sent it to everyone that submitted a resume. Waste of time, IMO.

I am still waiting to hear back from Kilpatrick Townsend. Have seen nothing posted nor heard anything either from Oblon Spivak. Only two left for me
