Are dress shoes ok? I really only have "date" type shoes, and cole haan boat shoes that are classy but not seasonal.kalvano wrote:Slacks, button-down, dressier-type shoes.
Dress shoes are fine. I add a blazer to the list as well.AriGoldButNicer wrote:Are dress shoes ok? I really only have "date" type shoes, and cole haan boat shoes that are classy but not seasonal.kalvano wrote:Slacks, button-down, dressier-type shoes.
Are chinos, a white button down and sport coat acceptable? And can the sport coat be more liberal if it matches like hunter green or beige?Detrox wrote:Dress shoes are fine. I've seen people wearing them at some of the business casual places I went to.AriGoldButNicer wrote:Are chinos, a white button down and sport coat acceptable? Granted it was summer in DC, but I saw not one tie during all of my callbacks. All slacks/button-downs. Everyone had a suit hanging on the back of their office door.Cupidity wrote:Shirt & Tie / Jacket & Shirt
Real pants always.
Enjoy your summer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.Anonymous User wrote:My firm is business formal, which sucks from the perspective of having to ride the subway every single day while sweating my ass off in a suit, but good from the perspective of the 8 year old in me who hates having to pick out clothes to wear. I get to make like Doug and have what amounts to a closetful of the same outfit, with ties in a mechanical rotation.
I wish... Huh? I was told by someone going there that Cravath was the only firm in New York that still has a business formal dress code. Mind sharing which one it is, since you're anonymous and all?Anonymous User wrote:I wish...Lincoln wrote:Enjoy your summer at Cravath, Swaine & Moore.Anonymous User wrote:My firm is business formal, which sucks from the perspective of having to ride the subway every single day while sweating my ass off in a suit, but good from the perspective of the 8 year old in me who hates having to pick out clothes to wear. Alright fine, nothing here to connect the dots anyway. Jones Day. Recently went back to business formal, after doing a few years of business casual, and not liking the vibe I guess, or maybe people took too much advantage of it (at least in my office, not sure about others).Lincoln wrote:Huh?
