1L Callback Questions
Have a callback tomorrow with a firm for a 1L paid position - 4+ hours, 6 attorneys, plus lunch.
While I have some standard questions in my head (how do SAs get work, how much contact with partners and/or client matters do SAs have, what about this firm keeps you here, etc.), I'm wondering if anyone else has come across some outstanding, effective conversation starters/questions.
Thanks!

There's a lot of callback question threads if you search. Advice is same whether it's 1L or 2L.

Re: 1L Callback Questions
I usually start the day with about 6 open ended questions in my head and try to get them all answered throughout the day. The more open ended (yet specific to the firm) the better.
I always asked about their practice group.
Ask questions about the summer program. How is work assigned? Will I get exposure to multiple practice groups? Will I be assigned a mentor?
I like to ask the interviewer what they wish they would have considered when they were choosing a firm.
Honestly though the best interviews (the ones where I got offers) turned extremely casual very fast.

Separate question -- after a screener interview through OCI, do firms typically only contact those students it wants to bring back for a callback, or will they contact the other students too and let them know they were not selected?

Had some rejections letters. Others silence and when I call, they say they are still reviewing resumes - the polite way of saying you ain't getting a CB because we are looking for somebody better.

Re: 1L Callback Questions
I don't really need a rejection, but I don't like it when they say "you will hear from us either way" and not get anything at all. I feel like after a face to face screener, some sort of answer/result should be given out.
