You're right. They can push back a deadline, but pushing back a deadline and missing a deadline are different. If they did need more time they'd have to contact all the candidates and let us know that their predicted the timeline has changed. Since all anyone has heard is crickets, this bodes well in support of them meeting the June offer deadline.Anonymous User wrote:I disagree. The initial first round informational letter given out at the first round said offers were going to be made in May. The second round interview letter pushed that date back to June. So they can push back deadlines if they chose.

Is it possible that none of us, on this message board, got in and the DA already made selections?

Until a rejection notice is received I believe we are all still in the running.

I doubt it. With all the people on this forum, at least one person would have heard back or heard about 3rd interviews from other candidates.

I've heard that the Public defender has extended offers. That's an amazing turnaround considering we've been waiting for like half a year...

I called the exams unit and was told that we should expect word soon, but they will not give any specifics. I kind of already knew that, but was hoping for at least a little info. I tried....

I'm wondering if we would have received a phone call if we were still being considered for a third interview. I'm having a feeling that receiving a letter would not be a good thing.

I called Cathy Caraway to ask, she said they are behind in the selection process and no decisions have been made. I was live scanned during interview two and I just got a call about my background check so it seems to be moving along, albeit slow...

Without being specific (of course), what type of question did they ask you re: your background check. What context was it in?
Thanks! Hoping to hear something from this office soon!!

General questions about my credit report, comprehensive criminal history and DL report because I've lived in like five states. Nothing insane.

I got a call from my case investigator asking for another reference because they couldn't get a hold of one of mine. But that was a while back.Anonymous User wrote:Has anyone else heard or gotten a call?

Re: Los Angeles District Attorney
For those that were selected for Live Scan, when did you get it done? Recently?
Is it safe to say that those that weren't referred for Live Scan are out of the running for good?
Sorry, I'm new to the forum, and it's somewhat of a shock at how many people have gotten Live Scanned, from reading the posts.
It didn't seem like getting a Live Scan was so definitive after the second interviews in regards to moving on to the next round. Guess I was wrong?!

Re: Los Angeles District Attorney
The people who were referred for Live Scan were sent downstairs directly after the second interview. Although the informational sheet they gave us doesn't specifically say so, I believe that not being Live Scanned means you are out of the running. Sorry. I'm sure you could call them and verify that, though.

Has anyone heard that your references are getting calls? Have they told you they've been contacted by the office?

Nope, I was live scanned after my interview - received no calls from investigator, as far as my references - no one has been called to my knowledge.

What doesn't make sense to me is that if they haven't made a decision as to who is getting a third interview, logically they would need to investigate everyone who got live scanned as they wouldn't know who to exclude. So, it's weird that some people have heard things while others haven't. Sigh

Re: Los Angeles District Attorney
Just got an email with my scheduled 3rd round interview date!! Anyone else? It came with a FAQ attachment.. I'll be happy to outline that at a later time for others. For now - they are interviewing around 100 people, offers will be made mid July, class of 20-25 starts in August.
I hope I don't discourage anyone with this announcement.. there is a good chance it will take a while to schedule the interviews. They are likely interviewing each person selected individually.
