Mass Mailing SA Results to Date
My mass mailing count is now +100, 70 to gov’t (mostly judges), and the rest to law firms (mainly Big Law), I have only heard back from six judges (interviewed 4 times and put off until late January) and received over a dozen law firm courtesy responses putting me off until next month. Is this normal?
I read a couple threads where there seems to be a fair amount of positive activity and other threads noting ITE concerns. Perhaps focusing on the SA aspect is out of step until exam results are released (which might come as late as Jan 25).
I am trying to get a feel about what is typical. Classes have not yet begun so I am out of contact with my cohort. I am a 1L at a metropolitan T-10. Feedback is appreciated.

Well, most people don't get 1L SA's. Your results sound pretty typical.

+1. I hear 1L SA positions are out there, just not as much as once before. Positions for T-14, even upper Tier 1 1Ls are available. . .even for those who might find themselves faced with a median ranking. I could be wrong, but nailing something down with a law firm might mean waiting until February or March. Probably quicker if you are fine with a position as a judge’s clerk, etc.

From what I was told 1L hiring is up this year. I'm actually waiting on a decision right now and the firm is hiring multiple 1Ls. I have a handful of grade requests but there definitely movements without grades. I think largely depend on your resume though

Most firms told me they weren't hosting a 1L recruitment program this year, or I was too late (I applied during the holiday break). Everyone else told me to send in a transcript that I won't have for several weeks.
I do have 1 firm interview, though. Also have several public interest interviews.

This is most likely a retarded question that I should already know the answer to, but when we're talking about mass-mailing, are we talking about snail-mail or email?
