Non-USAO DOJ Internships

Post by Anonymous User » Wed Jan 04, 2012 9:20 pm

For anyone who applied to DOJ agency internships, have you heard back or even gotten a confirmation that your application was received?

Confirmation, but I think it varies by section etc.

Are you talking SLIP or volunteer or one-off things?

Volunteer. I even specifically asked for confirmation of receipt if possible, but no dice. I'm assuming they just get a ton of apps and can't reply, but I can't help worrying my email's lost in a spam filter somewhere at the eight or so DOJ Sections I applied to....

I haven't gotten any confirmations of receipt either except for one out of office reply.

So either both of ours are lost or we're both ok. I hope the latter

I have a friend in the AT section of DOJ who says that they haven't started looking at applications yet. I haven't received a confirmation yet either.

I applied to a ton of sections in November, and I think I only heard back from one - an immediate reply that their summer was already full. Silence appears to be the norm.

My guess(hope) is that they're waiting until the deadline for application to move at all on them. A lot of them have deadlines coming up on the 15th or the 30th.

It is concerning that some of the rolling review ones haven't gotten back to us at all but I'm not sure what else we can do but wait at this point

Agreed. I applied to one with a Dec 15 deadline as well, but the person I corresponded with earlier seemed to indicate they wouldn't be looking at apps until after the new year.... so hopefully I'm still a candidate!

Got dinged from the Fraud Section today... I applied a week ago, which was only a few days before the deadline. Not sure if it was me or my timing. I have relevant experience, etc. Good luck to everyone else!

Had an interview with the Capital Case Unit last week. Also rejected from the Narcotics division. Tumbleweeds everywhere else.

Applied early December if I recall. They said they had their slots filled up with upper level law students. Urged me to apply next year. The standard generic thank you for applying letter.

ugh gotten Tumbleweeds across the board besides the one ding from the fraud section.

If I hadn't gotten that one I'd have thought that I somehow didn't send the emails in.

Do you guys think that's just essentially a rejection to have heard nothing back at this point? Frustrating to say the least. Going to have to expand my fishing a lot more
