This thread is titled wrong. Should say: Why are no FL firms hiring SA after hiring season is over. Don't feel bad for people who sleep through July, August, and September and start mass mailing in November.

Cool suggestion bro.c3pO4 wrote:This thread is titled wrong. Should say: Why are no FL firms hiring SA after hiring season is over. Don't feel bad for people who sleep through July, August, and September and start mass mailing in November.
Anyway, the fact of the matter is that Florida is a relatively small, insular, and extremely loyal market. Think about expanding your search, OP. Of course you should keep trying, but I wouldn't bet on anything in the Florida market.

This plus the fact you were at a T4; that's roughly 3.75 tiers too low. In all the FL callbacks I went to, UF was the lowest-ranked school.wildhaggis wrote:c3pO4 wrote: Florida is a relatively small, insular, and extremely loyal market.
I bet the entire state had fewer SA spots than Chicago (which is absolutely pathetic).

Agreed with most the constructive sentiments expressed here. That said, at least one major Florida-based firm cancelled their SA program for 2012:

OP, do you have ties to Florida, or do you just want to live in the Sunshine State?

Isn't Florida the 4th most populous state? Is its legal market not also the 4th largest?

Think of the MANY reasons why this would not be true.2xHarvard wrote:Isn't Florida the 4th most populous state? Is its legal market not also the 4th largest?
