State Clerkship and Applying to Law Firms
So I landed a job as a clerk for a state judge in my home state. This is great as I hope to practice in my home state but had mediocre numbers. I start the end of August 2012 to August 2013. When should I start applying to law firms?

Re: State Clerkship and Applying to Law Firms
If you could swing a (probably shortened) summer associate gig while studying for the bar, apply now. I know people have done this before federal clerkships.
Otherwise, you can start as early as August/September, but it seems like most state law clerks I know waited until January to apply to firms. You can start networking/going to lunches/bar meetings as early as possible.
