I can't imagine anyone with any bit of cultural exposure endorsing the culture in LA. Maybe someone so white they don't even like Thai food?

Making 160k at a V25 in NYC is substantially similar to making 115k at Snell and Wilmer Phoenix, except 115k in Phoenix has significantly higher purchasing power than 160k in NYC. The hours are long, the work is hard, the pay is pretty good. I'd call both biglaw, but obviously you can prestigewhore inside it.
Haha so to be biglaw, the work must be hard and the hours must be long?
No, the pay must be good.

Biglaw (n): Subset of legal jobs with salaries which make actually earning a law degree worthwhile, for which you will almost certainly never be competitive if you do not break 170 on the LSAT.

So true. I converted my tiny pink 152 LSAT into a biglaw gig: TT waitlist, top 10% 1L, xfer to way better school, biglawl offers. I AM THE 1%.

Here's something interesting. Broad & Cassel Orlando and GrayRobinson Orlando are NLJ250, yes, but neither is actually the most preftigiouf firm in Orlando (or get the best work). Lowndes is, and they are NOT NLJ250.
Clarification: Lowndes may be the most prestigious firm BASED in Orlando, but not the most prestigious firm with an office in Orlando.
In Orlando, it's tops, better than the biglawl branch offices.

Also nice anon, pussy.

Generally I think of biglaw as the top 200 or so NLJ 250 firms that pay 6-figures. It's such a fluid distinction, so hard to pin down a definition.

Obvi I mean first nice car. Law students drive beat up old things but often dream of buying their first "real" car after they get a job. Biglaw gives that option.

A big lawyer with student loans cannot afford to pay $1600/month for a car.

Let's also remember that the majority of them are in NYC, where no one can afford to park a car, even if you could afford the payments and insurance.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
